In May 2008, boating enthusiast Paul Churchley will be taking his Suzuki powered Jeanneau Merry Fisher 625 around Britain in aid of the RNLI “Train one, save many” campaign.
Paul already had a 115 horsepower Suzuki outboard motor to power his boat and Suzuki will be providing him with a lightweight and portable 6hp auxiliary engine in addition to all the necessary servicing that he will need on his main engine for this trip.
Gareth Lumsdaine, Sales & Marketing Manager at Suzuki spotted details of Paul’s plans in Motorboats Monthly. Gareth said, “This is a challenging trip that Paul is embarking on and we were only too pleased to offer him our support as it is for a very worthwhile cause. Quite literally, Suzuki is behind Paul all the way!”
The effort will be on behalf of the RNLI and Paul explained why, “I wanted to make my trip into much more than just a challenge and I can not think of a better cause than the RNLI. I spend a lot of time at sea and I hope I will never need them but it is a huge comfort to know that they are there should the worst ever happen.”
He continued, “Although the trip will be quite daunting, it is also a comfort to know that I can rely on my Suzuki outboard as I have owned several in the past. Now I have a DF115 which will power me Round Britain and I can honestly say that I would not want any other make of engine with which to do a trip such as this.”
